An independent company, on the record.
We were founded on a simple premise: the brands that break through are usually the ones that took time to sit with what they actually stand for. So we sit with them.
AlterNarrative began in 2019, at a kitchen table, with a shared frustration: too many brands were being flattened into templates before anyone stopped to ask what they were actually trying to say.
We started making brand films, campaigns and editorial systems for a handful of challenger companies who wanted the work made properly. Today we're a small team of strategists, filmmakers, editors, designers and technologists building around one question: what would this brand look like if it took itself seriously, and refused to sound like everyone else?
"AlterNarrative" isn't a promise to be contrarian. It's a commitment to the frame: to name the story a brand is actually telling, to interrogate the easy version, and to build the creative that makes a sharper one possible.
Mission, vision, values.
Mission
Build brand, film and campaign work that earns attention instead of buying it, for companies with something real to say.
Vision
A media landscape where independent teams have the time, tools and craft to make work that lasts longer than a quarter.
Values
Craft over volume. Long arcs over quick wins. Honest with clients, and honest about the work, every time.
Challenging the templated brand.
Most brand work inherits its frame from whatever won the last pitch deck. That's often a template, a trend, a competitor. By the time the second draft is written, the assumptions inside the first are invisible.
Our job is to make those assumptions visible again, and to build the creative that lets a brand decide what to do with them.
That means fewer projects, made with more care. It means strategy we can defend, work we can point to, and relationships that outlast the launch. And it means partnering with clients as collaborators, not vendors.
